Waxcap mushrooms (from the genus Hygrocybe) are bright, tiny pops of color among the soil and rotting logs of the forest floor. They are tiny jewels that catch your eye and inspire delight and awe. I hope every item I create stirs a similar feeling.
Waxcap Handmade
Everything in the shop is handmade by me (Erin). Every bead and sequins is handstitched, every knit and purl handknit. Size and shape may vary between items, or a there may be a crooked stitch or two. This gives each piece unique character that makes it one of a kind.
For me, creating is like a prayer or incantation. Each piece is infused with the joy I experience while making it, and the hope I have for the person who receives it. Every stuffed piece includes a small sequin heart inside. It's a physical token of the love I put into every stitch.
